About News Troupe
News Troupe was set up in 2008 by James L Williams and Rowenna Skidmore to establish an outlet for up-to-the-minute comedy acting and writing in the South West.
They met in a production of Richard iii, performed at Leicester Cathedral in 2004 (pictured opposite!)
James Williams
James has written a number of plays and innumerable sketches and skits for the stage.
He is also a qualified journalist who has had the questionable pleasure of covering Truro Crown Court and inquests for various national newspapers.
An accomplished singer and performer, James was president of his university theatre society where he managed theatre performances from initial set design, through construction to final performance.
He also holds a first-class English degree.
Rowenna Skidmore
Rowenna has been writing and performing since the age of eight. Her work has come on leaps and bounds since then. Honestly.
She studied English at university with James where she further developed her acting and directing skills with the theatre society.
She has organised and taught a number of school drama workshops introducing Shakespeare to primary school children.
Rowenna loves comedy and has considerable experience organising performances and events.
